Since I’m going back to Japan it only makes sense to start blogging here again :] Cannot WAIT to leave and today is “packing” day for me.
That’s all for now, just wanted to put that out there.

I don’t really agree with the sign holder’s logic, because Biblical rites, rituals, traditions, and rules do not belong in our government. It’s a nice thought though.

“The test of courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority.”
After Iowa and Vermont recently joined Massachusetts and Connecticut to allow gay marriage, we know have a huge step forward for a minority that has been largely ignored throughout history.
Glad that steps are being taken to ensure liberty for *all*. BTW when I get married, it won’t be in a church.
I don’t think I’ll ever quite understand what some conservatives find so wrong about gay relationships. Slicing through any politics, religions, beliefs, what is wrong with love? What if we were just genderless beings?
Don’t pretend marriage is religious, it’s legal. Has been since its institution and each religion has based certain rituals around it. Going back we can trace marriages to actually being mostly about property (since early Mesopotamian times).
Don’t pretend it’s just about procreation. Old people can get married too with no huge political opposition following them. Homosexual couples can also adopt and raise completely normal families.
Don’t pretend marriage’s definition changing is an affront to values. If the definition hadn’t changed we wouldn’t have interracial marriage in the US. Customs are made to evolve as our society grows and sheds ignorance.
It’s embarrassing to see people oppose this with such vigor. NO ONE IS FORCING ANYONE TO MARRY SOMEONE OF THEIR OWN GENDER. If gay marriage were legalized, what would it change for straight people? That’s correct, nothing. It would just make millions of Americans ecstatic because they’d get the same rights as their heterosexual neighbors.
I’m so sick of people pretending they know how I feel. Really? Really? I’m making a LIFESTYLE CHOICE? Every time I hear someone say that it is kind of like getting slapped in the face. No one should dare tell me who I am and why I am the way I am. No one has any idea if they’re across the gulch throwing stones at a minority.

I get so frustrated.
…
ps- I’m really not supposed to say this (gay agenda likes to keep it hush hush), but BEING GAY CAN FUCKING SUCK.
Mmmm, possibly give or take a day. It’s hard with 2008 being a leap year and all.
But the one year mark is a great milestone in our relationship and definitely the most stable and longest relationship I’ve been in. And of course I’m with the best guy <3 This is a pretty awesome thing for me considering the tough time I’ve had finding guys who are more than skin deep (Japan, America, and otherwheres). You’re great Joey <3 Looking forward to 1 and a half.
Small bit of realism shown in on the typical “gays only have hookups” stereotypes.

Haha, I find this shirt amazing. I use ‘nandeyanen’ ALL THE TIME in American. Some of my cashiers will notice me saying it and be all like “what the hell?”. Basically it means “you have to be kidding me” and you can say it when someone says something ridiculous. Like if one of my cashiers asks for an additional break. I picked up the habit at Nagano High School and just fell in love with the word. It’s amazing. This shirt is amazing. I’m probably going to buy it.

Second is this “urusai” shirt. Urusai is a little tricky to translate because its dynamic and can change meanings in different situations. It can be used to insult someone or to tell someone to shut up. Either way it means they’re being loud and obnoxious. In ESS club sometimes the leaders would yell that out to people if they were talking. Haha. Japanese high schoolers.
Both are from http://www.gesshoku.org/ which has some pretty interesting tshirt designs. Stumbled on the site totally on accident (thanks Google) but some of their stuff just cracked me up because of personal memories.
Go to a KKK site. Replace “white pride” with “christian morals”. Now ask yourself why groups advocating for our government to bend to secular wishes is tolerated but asking the government to revert back to serving only white people is not.
We struck down racism. We’re still not willing to accept all religions or lack thereof.
And in my opinion, Focus on the Family and their ilk are doing far worse damage to the morals of our country than the KKK is right now.

While we can sit and bitch about our economy, other countries would just love to be able to do that. Because at least they would have living citizens.
So even through this financial crisis the US is going through, remind me why we’re creating even more weapons to bring death on people? And why is it that we’re still standing behind Israel instead of pushing harder for a truce? And why is it that the American people really don’t care?
I still hold a lot of contempt for ignorant Americans, just as much as I have for our lame duck President.
