Leaving!

Filed under: Japan — Paul @ 11:48 pm

I feel obligated to post the day before I leave, tell everyone how absolutely excited I am!  Sad, definitely, but excited too.  The gallery is up with no pictures, but it’s ready to have some pictures put up once I take some in Japan.

I’ll definitely miss everyone, but I think this will be so great and a really wonderful opportunity for me.  I plan to use it to the fullest, and to experience Japan the best I can.

Short update because I’m short on time, but I’m finally leaving!  Goodbye everyone!

Party

Filed under: Getting Ready — Paul @ 9:26 pm

Well, yeah. Party on Saturday for some friends and a whole ton of family for me leaving. Originally I had planned to have a HUGE get together with just my friends…but that fell through. Somehow I don’t feel like playing host that much, and family and close friends provides a less stressful atmosphere in the middle of getting ready to leave. In some ways, it sucks that only a few friends are coming, but in some ways it’s my fault for not being on top of it and getting invitations out ‘n stuff. Oh well, I _will_ be back for my senior year.

Lots of cleaning going on. Plus I’m still working from my college Japanese textbook, which is difficult. I need to translate a whole ton of hiragana into English to make myself feel satisfied, but I know it’s going to take awhile, and somehow I just keep putting it off. Have to do that tomorrow. At least I’m doing well on my powerpoint, it’s looking pretty good. Right now I’m assuming 11 slides is enough…but I have my trusty Laptop with powerpoint on it, so I can add/make a bigger one if the need arises later in the year. Good ‘ol Microsoft Office 2003.

Tomorrow/next week I’ll be adding a Photogallery [Coppermine] and a forum [XennoBB] to the site for more user interaction and stuff. The blog that I idolize [figuratively] is OutPostNine, a JET Teacher’s website and his awesome forums and things. I want to make my site at least as good as his.

Until later~
