I think it’s really unfortunate that families can fall apart when coping with a dying loved one. We all have a lot of different ways we want to deal with our own feelings and the situations and it can cause horrible clashes and rifts between people. Instead of focusing on being a family and supporting one another in the endeavor to make someone’s life as comfortable as it can be, things are turned so that everyone is vying to get their word in on how they think it should be handled.
The sad truth is that regardless of all the fighting and arguing the person is going to die. All the static just slows down the process in which things can get done and time in which you could spend loving someone who is leaving you is significantly cut down. It’s a time for closure with someone dear to you and should also be used as a time to give and recieve support from your family members, bond with them so that the grief can be shared between everyone.
When that person is gone, life for you will go on. You’ll be held responisble for your actions, you’ll have to face people that you may have disagreed with, and most of all you will still be part of the family. This is not the time to burn bridges, it’s not the time to act without thinking. It’s a time when actions and words must be thought about with the utmost of care. EVERYONE will be affected.
Love you all <3
Death. My great grandpa died at 3:00AM this morning. It wasn’t unexpected, he was 95. That was my last remaining great grandparent though. Not fun.
Sitcoms. They are ANNOYING. George Lopez? Unfunny. Charlie Sheen? Unfunny. Any of the other idiotic sitcom stars? UNFUNNY. When did it ever become humorous to put people in completely unrealistic situations and have them act like complete and utter morons? The characters have no depth, there’s no wit. Is this really marketed to mainstream America? Do some brainless souls out there actually enjoy watching this drivel? (Haha, my sister.) They annoy me to no end. I can understand movies that have stupid characters in them, but characters that are on every day or week and do the exact same things is just NOT creativity. It’s profit because there are people bored enough to watch.
Music Industry. No, it does not make you cool to wear those iconic white earbuds in your ears. It simply means that you buy into a system that is designed to make you spend lucrative amounts of money on music that should be priced much more competitively. Will any of the huge music conglomerates ever realize that ALL SONGS ARE ALREADY ON LIMEWIRE. No, putting a restrictive DRM on music does NOT help. In fact it pushes more people to download illegal music, which can be put on ANY MP3 player you want. Or to buy CDs, which could easily be illegally uploaded. Want to shoot yourself in the foot? Don’t do it at MY expense.
Stereotypes. They’re wrong, period. Try to stop using them.
Taboos. Some things are not talked about simply because humans are too wrapped up in what’s ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. The lines aren’t to be blurred? Who made those lines? Honestly, we do a great job emulating buffalos who follow each other right off the edge of a cliff. This has been proven through literary trends, religious trends, artistic trends, etc etc. Some things are, by nature, distasteful to talk about. I’m not saying talk about anything you want, so if you dream about having sex with a dead person, keep it to yourself. I’m just saying that things that everyone thinks, does, whatever should be a little more open. The more we cover up, the more we want to look at what’s underneath when we think no one else is looking.
High Schoolers. Although I’m often immature acting, my mind works at a much different speed. Most high schoolers though are pretty immature through and through. Oh, you don’t know anything about politics? Religion? Anything?! Plus they tend to be inept at judging social scenarios and often are less than adults about relationships. Come on kids, start thinking a bit more forward. It just seriously annoys me to NO END when it seems like I have no one to discuss any serious topics with because it would all go over their head or they simply don’t have the ability to defend their position on something.
America’s Waistline. Being obese is not healthy. Can anyone name a positive about this? You KNOW that exercise is good for you. I’m trying not to stereotype when I write this, and I’m not going to make a generalization that all fat people are lazy, but I just don’t understand why people want to liberate themselves this way. Sorry.
Current Government. The way our government is set up, it’s no longer what it needs to be. The ultimate and ONLY goal of government is to serve who they govern. Are all those hoops that need to be jumped through to get something done that is common sense really benefiting the people of America? Many politicians would say that it is done all for your good. Many politicians are also good liars.
Preconceived Ideas on Life. Don’t mindlessly follow your religion. Seek out what life means on your own. That way when you choose what’s right for you and make judgements in morality you can defend your positions steadfastly. If you simply eat anything that is spoonfed into your mouth, you will be caught naked when someone puts you on the spot. I’m not advocating or dissuading one to seek or abandon religion, I just want people to really understand the choice they’re making.
The list could go on. Sadly. Did you really read that all? Ha, some people can’t stand long, dry blog posts.
